Taking care of me.....

A walking advert for raw-foodism

Right having just washed my hair and the lovely relaxing feeling that gives me and re-reading a bit of Natalia Rose' 'Raw Food Life Energy Force' which is what I followed when I embarked on my two week raw-food adventure last week and ended up looking and feeling the best I'd ever felt. However that was combined with daily exercise, so I don't know which factor contributed the most to a state of complete well-being. Soooooooo, I don't want to eat raw food only. I enjoy cooking and LOVE food and don't feel that I should deprive myself of anything that I want, so hence my resolve to start my 50 recipes again so that it's gastronomical pleasure that's gonna be my main goal. Case in point - M&S carrot cake I had for lunch made me feel SICK as sick as the smelly cauliflower soup that made me give up the raw food regime.

Hanging with the young, beautiful and trendy in Brick Lane

Ticked the first off my 30 (listed) places to visit on a Saturday larking around Brick Lane with Els and her boyf Oliver. So much fun hanging out with Els as always and we wandered around Brick Lane, ate food from the stalls and tried on crazy glasses. I like Brick Lane but it is really full of young trendies, outdoing each other with their bohemian chic and too-cool-for-school attitude. Could spend a lazy sunny Sat afternoon there, but prefer London Fields for a similar vibe, but the greenery makes the trendy-wendies a bit more bearable. Anyway happy to have one to tick off the list. Go me!!!!

Happiness is youthfullness

Met my mentee today and she's wonderful!! Really bubbly and lovely and I feel very happy to be matched with her, The only foreseeable problem is my unavailability and constant travelling but hopefully I'll see her at least every ten days. Sooooooo glad that I'm finally doing this and its really helping me to put things in perspective and the knowledge that not much really matters other than love (well obviously need to fulfil Maslow's hierarchy of  needs) but walked past Whistles and I'm like 'meh' not that interested. Not that interested in shopping anymore, just interested in minimalising, not interested in skin care products, hair products, nothing like that. Just want to do all my 30before30 and spend time with my friends. That's what's important.

The music project

One of the best thing to happen in Paris was the acquisition of the MOST organised music collection from Hendrick. He let me copy his entire music catalogue which includes the best Brazillian and Jazz albums, I mean we're talking Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker, Donald Byrd, Sun-Ra Serious music nerd and I've inherited all of it!! Yay!!! And so I'm inspired to start sorting out my own music collection and getting rid of all of the music that I downloaded with no discrimination from Mr Donohoe (don't like 90% of it!!) and uploading all my CDs and sorting them by genre and creating playlists. Too long, I have not really been getting to the heart of my music. I've also decided that I will showcase an album a week or maybe a song :). I absolutely NEED an amazing system to play music on. Considering a BOSE or a Roberts (The Bose is sooo much better looking though,so don't know if I'll be shallow and go for aesthetic). Will pay a visit to an electronic vendor on Tottenham Court Road soonish.

Musings on clothes

Creating order from chaos - so this was the sight that greeted me on my return from Paris, the pitfalls of sharing a room with a person who lives in a bubble all of their own creation and is totally oblivious to everything around her (thank goodness she is off to uni on Sunday)! So I cleaned it up and now it looks like the pictures below. Anyway I need to blog properly about my journey towards creating my perfect wardrobe.  I have got rid of over 50% of my wardrobe, honestly I can't believe the debris I was hanging onto. Things I hadn't worn in forever, holding on to remnants of my various incarnations (the hippie uniform featured very heavily) the horrid quality polyester crap, anyway all gone now and I feel so much lighter - honestly clutter does weigh you down without you even being aware of it. Now I'm left with things that I truly love and perfect uniform hangers,

It's been a long time. I shouldn't have left you, without a dope tune to step to

Ahhhh Paris, such a distance perfect memory and I have not blogged in FOR-EVER!!! Anyway back with my camera USB and so can finally upload my Paris pics. This is me and Els having an UH-MAZ-ING time in the Bastille and meeting some very lovely people including the LUR-VER-LY Bouba who was the first man I've been properly able to dance with. There we are zouk-ing away (forgive the very un-classy black bra showing through white dress - ugh!) and it was great but I'm not going to tick off dancing confidently with a partner just yet. Until I can salsa away with the best of them, I'll not be happy.
