Hello 2016

Well it's been an insanely long time since I blogged. Pretty much three years ago. Amazing how time flies. The foetus that was in my womb last time I blogged is now a stunning, articulate, intelligent and hilarious toddler that makes me grateful every single moment of the day. I was in Crawley in a new build in my last post, now in a pretty lush, Victorian London flat. I was still at Anti-Slavery in 2013 and now I'm surrounded by a pile of History books to be marked as I'm a History NQT. I still didn't look particularly pregnant during that post but now I'm a solid 12 stone with new mum weight that has stubbornly gone nowhere for the last 2.5 years.

 I feel that I've been finding my feet in that time, what with new baby, selling old home  and buying new one, renovating new home, applying for job, getting job and learning the ropes and adjusting to minimum sleep as baby monkey only started sleeping through the night in the summer. In short, I've had zero time for myself - I'll rephrase that to I've made zero time for myself or my health. It really hit me last night looking through the blog and the things I used to eat, how badly I've been eating for the last 2.5 years. My body which responds best to lots of fruit and vegetables, fish and legumes has been compounded with meat and cheese and pasta galore, courtesy of loving an Irish man who only subsists on those items. My movement has been minimal as well, so as we approach 2016, I've resolved to change it all and start looking after myself again and setting myself some goals. I was very inspired by Shelley Wilson and her quest to change her life in a year and thought I'd take the same approach and focus on one change that I would make each month, so this is going to be the focus of the blog this year. Wish me luck and I wish everyone a truly successful, happy, lovely New Year.
