Of course loved the whole night immensely and was dancing away feeling so blessed to be African and it seems that my South African connection is growing stronger as I always get asked if I'm South African and I'm increasingly making new friendships with South Africans. Yesterday was particularly funny - after coming back from my 10k race, sat opposite one of the most stunning women I've seen in a really long time and fought really hard to keep from staring at her, but she kept smiling at me. She got off the same stop and asked if I was an athletic - after spluttering with laughter at the poor woman, I had to explain that I was at the opposite end of that spectrum. She then asked if I worked out a lot - had to laugh at that one as well. She then went on to say what an amazing body I had. Swoon!! Now if only she were a man - would have been perfect. Turns out she was South African and thought I was too!!! But anyway loved this song by Vusi which I think sums up my diaspora self perfectly.

If music be the food of love - Play on Thandiswa....
